Susan Woodford
Susan graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science degree in Organizational Management. She is a Certified Prevention Professional through the Florida Certification Board. Susan has been working in the field of addiction and prevention for 25 years. Susan is active in coalition work across the State of Florida. As a coach for Florida State University, she has worked with rural and urban substance abuse prevention coalitions at all levels of capacity. She is and has worked with assisting coalitions with the implementation of the Strategic Prevention Framework.
She has an extensive history working with public and private treatment providers and assisting in the implementation of programming that is aligned with community strategic planning. Susan is also actively involved in her local coalition and has a comprehensive understanding of building and sustaining coalition efforts. Susan has provided training to coalitions on topics that address all 5 phases of the prevention framework and has the ability to assist coalitions in establishing relationships and overcoming barriers in their identified communities.
Kerrie Albert
Kerrie Albert graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is a Certified Prevention Professional through the Florida Certification Board. Kerrie has worked in the area of prevention for the past five years, both with a provider agency and as a coalition leader. She has been extensively trained in the Strategic Prevention Framework and uses this process to work with youth coalitions throughout the community. Kerrie is an active member in numerous organizations to support community prevention efforts. She is currently the Project Director of the Nassau Alcohol Crime Drug Abatement Coalition.
Gail Greeson
Gail Greeson is a wife, mother, grandmother and concerned citizen who has lived in Fernandina Beach for 45 years. She graduated from Fernandina Beach High School and attended Brunswick Junior College and FCCJ. Mrs. Greeson worked at Montessori Preschool for five years and at Southside Elementary for two years as a teacher aide. She retired from Fernandina Beach High School, where she had worked 22 years as a Dean's Aide and Guidance Aide. Since retirement, Mrs. Greeson has been able to enjoy her other interests, which include spending time with family and friends, working with plants in the yard, cross stitching, and quiet time with God. She also loves working with and helping others and is grateful for this time in her life when she can live life at a different pace.
Amy Pipkin
Amy Pipkin was born in Fernandina Beach and graduated from Fernandina Beach High School. She attended college at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania where she graduated with a BA in Sociology and a BA in Criminology. Amy worked as a Case Manager with Sutton Place Behavioral Health for approximately 12 years. She also owned and worked a small business between helping services. Amy has worked with Communities in Schools for four years as a Site Coordinator at Fernandina Beach Middle School and Fernandina Beach High School. Her interests include following children's sports and spending time with her family.
Mary Pitcher
Mary Pitcher was born in Iowa, lived in Northern California for 12 years, and then moved to Key West for 25 years, prior to landing in Fernandina Beach in 2006. Mary is currently the Business Development Officer for First National Bank of Nassau County where her responsibilities include establishing and developing new business banking relationships, local marketing and civic liaison. Prior to moving to Fernandina Beach, Mary was Vice President and Manager of a Residential Lending Department for the largest Community Bank in the Keys. Prior to the mortgage industry, Ms. Pitcher was the Chief Executive Officer of the Key West Association of Realtors for 8 years. When Mary moved to Fernandina Beach in March of 2006, she immediately got involved in the Community. Some say she "jumped in with both feet" as evidenced by her awards and accolades.
Ms. Pitcher was honored by the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach/Yulee Chamber of Commerce as the "Volunteer of the Year" and the "Ambassador of the Year" in 2008. She was also awarded the "Affiliate of the Year" award by the Amelia Island Nassau County Association of Realtors in 2008. Ms. Pitcher lives in Fernandina Beach with her husband, David, and is a member of many local civic and charitable organizations. She enjoys reading, painting and orchid growing in her spare time.
D. Marshall McCrary
Marshall has been a resident of Fernandina Beach and Nassau County since early 2004. Prior to relocating, he lived in South Carolina for most of his life. He grew up in Charleston but spent most of his adulthood living in the Clemson and Greenville areas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences (1984) and a Master of City and Regional Planning degree (1991) from Clemson University. His professional life has included software development and information technology management as well as City Planning responsibilities for a variety of jurisdictions in South Carolina and Florida. He is currently the Director of the Community Development Department for the City of Fernandina Beach. Marshall has experienced first hand the devastation that substance abuse can bring to the lives of family and friends and believes in the importance of outreach and education aimed at prevention among our youth.
Becky DeBerry
Becky was born in Jacksonville, Florida and has been a resident of Nassau County for 39 years. She attended Florida Community College of Jacksonville. Becky has been married for 17 years and has two teenagers. She is extremely passionate for the students in our community. As a teen Becky admits to not having an advocate or having someone there to listen or lead her in the right direction. She knew as an adult she wanted to be part of change in the lives of children. Fourteen years ago she started working with students in our community and in Jacksonville which then lead her to full time ministry with middle and high school students at The Journey Church in Fernandina Beach. What an exciting adventure!
